Isabel Alarcón
I am an Ecuadorian environmental journalist. From 2014 to 2022 I worked at Diario El Comercio, one of the largest newspapers in Ecuador, where I was in charge of covering all environmental issues. I currently work as a freelancer. My work has been published in English and Spanish in different media such as The Washington Post, El País and Dialogue Earth. I am a Pulitzer Center, Climate Tracker, Earth Journalism Network (EJN), International Center For Journalists (ICFJ) and CONNECTAS fellow. I am part of the Oxford Climate Journalism Network and Solutions Journalism Network. In 2024 I won the Eugenio Espejo Ecuadorian journalism award for Best Written Story with “La ruta amenazada de los bagres amazónicos”.
